I was reading through the Fender Frontman 212R manual and need help understanding the following statement (in regards to the PWR IN jack):

' (2) Multiple Amps - Connect the primary unit’s PRE OUT to the auxiliary unit’s PWR IN. The primary unit is used to control all auxiliary units'

Is there any rules governing ohms, etc., when connecting say a tube or solid-state amp head to this unit? Or any amp head, combo amp, etc., can be attached with no danger to either unit?

Thanks.

The “Pre out” connects to another amp’s “Pwr In”, it does not connect to speakers, so no concern about ohms.

Great. With that information I checked my Fender Champ 30 for a "Pre Out" jack but it does not have one. It does have an "EXT SPKR" jack, but this seems to be used for an external cabinet, not another amp. Is this the case or can I send the signal from my Champ 30 (with Gain) to my Frontman 212R "PWR IN" (without Gain) jack?

Speaker jacks only go to speakers. (Or attenuators or load boxes.)
