Hi everyone,

I've been a proud owner of a Champion 40 for the last year, and I never had any problems it with it, until just very recently. I got a new baritone (a PRS SE 277), and while jamming with other band members, I noticed that the low frequencies are almost audible (the highs sound just right, tho). I tried swapping amps, reproduce the same EQ setting I was using on my Champion, and I found that its just on my amp that the lows are quite inaudible.

After doing some online research, I found many other players also saying the the stock speaker from the Champion 40 is not very good, and that, by replacing it, the amp gains a whole new live!

So, with a little more research, I've narrowed down the options to these 3 speakers:
Jensen 12-70 MOD
Eminence Cannabis Rex 12" 8 ohm
Eminence Hempdog 12" 8 ohm

I usually play some clean stuff, like to get bluesy tones, and some jazzy stuff too. But also, I would like to be able to get some hard rock tones.

I don't know if I am asking for the the impossible, but may someone help me on this decision? Has anyone tried any of these speakers?

Sorry for the long post, and thank you in advance for your help :)

Cannabis Rex might be your best choice of the three listed. The CRex is a very versatile speaker that can cover all your needs well. Probably, at least partly, the lack of low end has to do with the size of the amp cabinet. You wont get a huge amount of low end. An Eminence “Swamp Thang” might be a better choice for more low end. The ST is a very good speaker that doesn’t color your tone, it will give you the “true sound” of your amp. I have both the CRex (Blues Junior)and ST (Hot Rod Deluxe) speakers.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

Celestion Greenback or Creamback.

I have the Greenback in my 1999 Blues Junior, and it is more than capable of making the sounds of the genera's you've mentioned.
I'll have to admit I've never heard either in anything but full Tube...so not sure how well they preform in an SS Modeling amp like the Champion.
A buddy of mine has the Champion 100, and it sounds fantastic with the stock speakers.
