I want to get a "Two Notes Torpedo Capture" reactive load box, so I can record the distorted signal past the power tubes (without using the internal speaker at all-i.e. using the combo as a head)

I'm confused as to what the impedance of the device should be (it comes in 4, 8, 16 ohm configurations)

According to the amp manual, if I bypass the internal speaker, I should then connect a 4ohms cabinet. See configuration 3 circled in red https://imgur.com/PP6UlC6

According to the load box manual I should use the impedance of the internal speaker (8 ohms) https://imgur.com/v2AAK8y

I THINK is should get the 4ohms, but I got mixed answers from support when double checking. What do you think?

If you unplug the internal speaker from the main speaker jack, and plug a load box into that main speaker jack, you would set the load box to 8 ohms for a matched impedance.

In order to use the "option 3" from the manual, you would plug a dummy plug (open plug) into the main speaker jack, and then plug in a 4 ohm speaker or load box to the external speaker jack.

Using the external speaker jack switches the OT to the 4 ohm tap. So if you plug an 8 ohm speaker into each output jack (two 8 ohm speakers in parallel=4 ohms), that would be a 4 ohm matched impedance. When using the 4 ohm option, only half of the OT is being used.

Got it. I ended up ordering the 8ohm version and I'll plug into the main out

thanks a lot :)
