Interesting. I have been debating whether or not to change out the speaker in my tolex Jr. Even that Jensen sounds good. Anybody have any suggestions? I use my Jr. with two different bands for practicing and recording--rock and blues\rock. I like the way the Jensen takes a little of that bright edge off and seems to warm things up a bit.

Both sound great, but slightly different. Its like deciding on plain or peanut M&m's.

Thanks for the tip Chet!

FYI for anybody that is interested... Audio samples of the Scumback's can be found here: http://www.scumbackspeakers.com/

Just click on the desired speaker model in the right hand menu and use the Select A Sound File menu.

Is the only difference the speaker & the tweed between the tweed blues Jr & the regular?

Found the answer on this post:

Update on NOS vs 'reglar'. At least in the case of the NOS version recently purchased from MusiciansFriend, referenced above.

Folks at Fender responded to my questions the same day I sent them. Twice, in fact. Here 'tis.

------------------
That amp does have spring reverb. It is just called NOS because of the
tweed covering on it. The tubes are the same as the ones in our current
Blues Junior amplifier. Other than the speaker and covering, there are
no differences. I hope this helps.

Just the speaker and the amp covering.

The same guy that did that You-Tube video (Anthony) has this video on his web site with his NOS in a stage situation with his band.... miked to the PA system, but still sounds great outdoors.... you can just see it over the monitor speaker to his left..
