I've found that Drive 2nd channel on my Blues Deluxe reissue amp only works when I push the channel switch on the amp. As soon as plug in the footswitch to the amp, the Channel light goes off and then neither the footswitch or the amp's channel switch will work. I tried it with both the Fender TRS cable and a brand-new Livewire TRS cable into the footswitch jack, and didn't help. I think it might be either the actual channel switch in the amp or the circuit?

Yea, sounds like the footswitch itself.
You can test the circuit by plugging in the trs cable.
Using a paperclip or tweezers, momentarily short the tip to ground then the ring to ground to check switching operation.

I believe it's the footswitch -- last night I tested it using the 2-button footswitch from my Fender Frontman 25R which is an older and completely different looking 2-button switch. But that switch worked just fine on the Blue Deluxe Reissue. So I think the problem must be my BD's footswitch. The amp is about 10 years old so it's out of warranty. I'd have to buy new footswitch I think which is ok.

Which one should I get? Do I need to the exact replacement or is there a different/better footswitch for the Blues Deluxe Reissue that I should look at?

Also, the footswitch I tested it with was from my Fender Frontman 25R like I said before. And the footswitch that came with the Frontman was highly similar to this one. I wonder if this could work with my Blues Deluxe?

When I bought my Blues Deluxe RI several years ago, the wires on the footswitch plug had to be reversed. Then it worked.
