Hello I’m Jim and new to the forum. I have a Twin Reverb that has had the same issue for a while and I can’t figure it out. An amp tech couldn’t either...

The Issue:
Amp plays for a few hours then slowly starts to fade in and out. The red light also fades in and out. As the amp fades the sound goes from normal to a really heavily distorted sound. Almost like a fuzz or Marshall stack sound with very little volume. Then shortly after that it stops working completely. No light or sound. When it’s plugged in you can still feel the power or slight hum of electricity to the touch but no sound.
I have changed the main tubes, both fuses but nothing else. I know a good tech could figure this out but I’m done with that. I’ve spent enough. I’m pretty savvy with electronics I just don’t know where to start and don’t want to replace all capacitors and all that if someone has seen this before.
After changing fuses one time it did work for a bit but then after I powered it up for a few hours back to the same thing. I used my meter and checked fuses and they are still good so no blown fuses.

Please help!

1- Which Twin R ? Years ?

2- Look you loose heater tubes supply and maybe more.

3- Check connections from wall outlet amp cord to Power Transformer secondary . Problem is somewhere there.

In worse case Power Transformer is bad

First ;
