Good evening everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving Day.
I am wondering if anyone has played the above 68 Princeton Reverb Blue with Celestion G10 that can offer me any feedback?
Thanx in Advance,
Jeff

I've played through them from time to time, the most recent being a few months ago in a small town mom n' pop music store.

I'm not sure exactly what kind of info you're after but I would describe the PRRI as "sounding" a little bigger than it is. I don't mean it's loud. The power is the power and the PRRI doesn't have much. It does sound bigger than 12 watts though ... at the sound pressures it is capable of producing. In my world, that's a very good thing. I like the sound of a medium to big amp, especially if I'm not playing it loudly. It's just ..... better. My rule of thumb is when playing clean or clean-ish, the more power the better, regardless of final loudness level. Usually. There are a few rare exceptions and this is one of them.

It's very good at producing typical Fender clean chime. It is reasonably touch sensitive but not overly so, perhaps roughly equivalent to a Deluxe Reverb in that department. When pushed into overdrive it seems a little bit more Tweedy than other popular Fender Re-Issues. That means it's a little hairier around the edges, if that makes any sense to you. It is also a little less bright at low volumes than some other Re-Issues.

These fairly vague descriptions I am giving you are pretty well known and a simple Google search could have gotten you to the same conclusions. The descriptions still apply today because the amps they are based on have been around for many decades. If they didn't, they wouldn't be very good Re-Issues. If you really want to know how it sounds you should take YOUR guitar to a store and try one for yourself. Your guitar played with your hands will tell you how the amp sounds ... for you. Tone is subjective and much of it comes from the player.

(Yes, I know, technically the 68's aren't Re-Issues)

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I have read so many reviews, with mixed reviews, and really wanted to get the opinion of someone who has played through one on this forum. It sounds like it would be a great Only Tube Guitar purchase. It would be the one and only purchase of this sort, as I want to purchase before I retire.

I ended up with a new 65 Princeton Reverb Reissue. Very happy with the decision. It can only get better as the speaker breaks in. Perfect size for what i am doing and just enough drive if needed.
