I have a Mustang IV v2 amplifier. After using the headphone output (first time since I purchased the amp 2.5yrs ago) and then unplugging the headphone, the regular sound over speakers has died. Replugging in the headphone jack, sound over the headphone is back as should be, but speaker sound doesn't return.

I plugged/unplugged the headphone jack repeatedly, as it seem the amp 'thinks' the headphone is still plugged in even when it's not, but no luck.

If anyone has had this problem with Mustang or other amp and knows of a simple solution, would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Rut

Get it in for warranty repair before the warranty runs out. If the warranty runs out before it’s fixed, you may very well be stuck with an overpriced, oversized headphone amp.

These amps are designed to be disposable (IMO) so get what you can out of it while the warranty is still good.

And start saving for a better amp now so you don’t end up in the same position again. Just my .02. I have a Mustang III v1 collecting dust in my closet now.

Stuff happens. Check that the head of your headphone plug didn't break off. If that's it, unplug the amp and get the piece out with a hemostat or something similar. If not, use the warranty. It's a good amp. Don't let a minor thing like a jack going bad sour you on it.

It's worth noting, it's possible a valid warranty would be voided by digging around in the headphone port with a pair of hemostats.

"This limited warranty becomes void if the serial number on any product is defaced or removed, or the product has been damaged by alteration, misuse, accident, or neglect; or the product has been repaired or serviced by persons not authorized by Fender."

Good point. If you see your headphone plug broke off and is stuck in the jack, put the amp in your car, drive it to an authorized Fender service tech, play dumb, and hope that you get your amp back in a reasonable time and that they cover the repair at no charge and they don't break anything else while they're mucking around in there.

I don’t see any need to “play dumb”. It would either be covered under warranty or it wouldn’t and an authorized repair shop would be able to tell you that. If it’s covered, drop it off for repair. If it’s not, you have nothing to lose. Bring it back home and break out the hemostats. Or at least that’s what I would do (YMMV).
The mustang series seems to be built to be as disposable as your average mobile phone. There’s a decent chance they’d just swap it for a brand new amp instead of repairing it.
