A few more specs for you. Fender Sidekick Reverb 65 Combo Amplifier Solid State Power Source 65 Watts 39.4 Lbs 19" x 17" x 10.5" 1 12" Fender Special Design Speaker (Eminence). Made In Japan and later Taiwan and production ran up to 1992 for the sidekicks but the 65 stopped in 1988..

This amp is pretty rare and hard to find because Fender, at the time, did not acknowledge it (much); however, it is built extremely well (Pine cabs), and has A LOT of headroom (esp for a 65 watt solid-state amp). Came with a footswitch 025247 (part number) for channel switching and it also had an effects loop. Here is a link to the schematic.

Thanks guys!! the info on the web is very sparse indeed on these amps!! even with the 12" 16 ohme speaker it is very loud , so im right in assuming that if i put an 8ohm speaker in this it would be even louder?

Louder? Maybe but not much, but will operate more efficiently and put less stress on the power tranny. And you are right about lack of info, even Fender doesn't have the schematics archived on their site with the rest of the amps they don't make anymore! But....here is the link, they can send you a PDF copy of the schematic.

For your free PDF copy, please email consumerrelations@fender.com or call (480) 596-7195.

Great! Luckily I have a pretty good library of actual books to look some of this stuff up in. Never underestimate the power of a good library for research...google is not always your friend!
