Thanks Dazz,

I contacted the vendor. Hopefully they can give me the part numbers I need. I had trouble locating them on the site.

The value of the pots is stamped in the pots themselves with a letter indicating the taper (B = Linear, A = Logarithmic, C = Anti-logarithmic) and a number (50K = 50 kilo ohms = 50000 ohms, 1M =1 mega = 1 million ohms, etc...)

Here are the links to the specific pots you need for a 212R. You can double check the values by looking at the labels in the old ones

Hi dazz,

I also need to replace my pots and am thinking of using the list of substitute parts you provided.

Does everything work correctly? Did it all fit properly? Was it strictly just solder the new pots in and no jumper wires?

Any insight you can give me would be appreciated.

Hopefully you see this after 2 years.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark. I ended up selling the amp after a few months. Everything seemed alright, but if I was doing it again I would get Alpha pots. They're quite inexpensive and very good quality.

You can get them here:

Linear: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/potent ... inear.html
Log: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/potent ... thmic.html
Anti-log: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/potent ... verse.html

I don't think snap-in pots are strictly needed. These should be a good fit, just make sure they're tightly screwed to the chasis to avoid stressing the solder joints when they're loose. No jumpers required either.

Good luck!

Thanks! I am going to purchase the parts you suggested.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Great, hope it goes well. Be careful when desoldering the old pots, the PCB traces are rather thin. Use a desoldering pump. You probably know this already, but just in case

Actually I don’t. I have very little experience soldering. I will do some research or I just may find someone to do it for me.

Thanks again

Hi Dazz,

I ordered the parts you gave me and have finally installed them.

All but 1 potentiometer broke off when taking off the knobs. So I replaced them all.

The amp works like new now. In fact the static I was getting before is now gone. I can crank the amp to max and you would not even know it is on.

Since then I bought a Hot Rod Deluxe 40W. So I am now selling this one.

Thanks for all your help.

Extremely appreciated!

Mark
