Hello, everyone

So, I just wanted to ask about the overdrive channel on my DeVille. The problem is that there is basically no overdrive coming out. The noise gets louder when I switch the channel, but even when I'm turning the drive dial nothing changes. What could it be?

Thanks!

Lets back up a bit with your description.
when you describe no overdrive, do you mean no sound or no overdriven sound?
When you describe the drive control makes no effect, do you mean there is no volume change or just not an overdriven sound?
There are two relays for the overdrive. one on the OD tube and the other on the Drive control
The extra hiss is indicating that the overdrive circuit is switching in.
No operation out of the Drive control indicates its relay is not functioning or the control is damaged.
Channel change problems are often rooted in the low voltage +_ 16 volt power supply. There are a couple large resistors that overheat and lose voltage to the relays.
Has the amp ever been worked on?
Have you tried a different tube in V2. its the OD tube
