I have a five year old Acoustasonic 150 that I gig with regularly. It's a really versatile amp and I've been quite happy with it.*

Recently, the mute switch stopped working. It won't stay in the muted position, but pops right back up. So I can't plug/unplug instruments without reaching behind the amp, turning it off, doing my business up front, then turning it on again.

I assume this switch is surface-mounted on a PC board that's only accessible by disassembling the amp, and that the switch is only available in quantities of 10,000 from a wholesale supplier. For want of a $1 switch, the amp was unusable. But I would like to be proven wrong.

Has anyone else experienced this particular failure, and how did you address it?

* What's not to love? Lack of a tremelo effect. On a Fender amp? Really? My only gripe, though.

Broken solder ?
Or amp need need switch

The replacement of the switch is no problem for a experimented amp tech.
Bring amp to a tech.

You're in luck. Its the same 6 pin push switch found in hot rod and blues deluxe models. It can be found wherever amp parts are sold.
Its also mounted at the end of the board, providing easy access.

Thanks, guys. I'm encouraged and will take it to my amp tech and see what he can do. I'm grateful for your knowledge and answers.
