Hey everyone, just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this with the new 68 customs. A few months ago I got my second 68 Twin Reverb Reissue. I actually traded in my first one for a Supro Royal Reverb, but ended up wanting to go back to the Twin after realizing the Supro wasn't going to cut it volume wise for the type of music and shows I play.

I traded the Fender in and the shop noticed it had some sort of weird microphonic noise/vibration/rattle that I hadn't noticed in the three or four months I had owned it. After I had decided against the Supro I decided to stick with what I already knew and went with another 68 Twin Reissue. The shop was totally awesome and ended up ordering a new 68 instead of giving me the one with the strange microphonic noise/vibration/rattle. It was covered under warranty, anyway.

All good, right? Wrong... We rehearse in a really old garage/shop and at first I thought the rattling and vibrations I was hearing with the new amp must have been the old rickety walls etc. We played our first show out last weekend, and the first part of the set I start hearing this awful rattle/vibration on clean lower notes. Not so stoked.

I am just curious if anyone else has this amp and has experienced these issues. I play on the custom channel with no brightness, bass: 6, treble: 6, mids: 6, volume at around 5. I also run an eq and i roll of the low-mids a tad and boots the hi-mids and treble a bit. I am playing through a 62 Jazzmaster with the tone switch at the halfway position.

I'm not an amp geek and I don't really have any interest in taking the amp apart or diagnosing it myself. It's not the tubes... I know this for a fact. I feel like I am just going to annoy the crap out of the shop if I show up wanting to trade in this amp for something else again.

Has anyone else experienced these issues with this line of amps? Any suggestions on what I should do? Would the 65 Twin be more reliable and come without the vibration/microphonic/rattle/earthquake sound? Should I just buy a freaking bass head? It sounds beautiful and has those sparkling fender cleans until you start playing lower notes, and then it just sounds like armageddon/farty. I feel like there isn't a ton of low end going on and there's no reason for an amp this expensive to make the awful sound it's making. Help please!

If I'm right, I often read issue like yours with those amps.

It is NOT a "reissue".
