In my never ending quest fot quietude, I stumbled across this Carling switch in the Antique Electronics site. Their part number is p-h520.
It's a two pole, 3 position toggle switch , OFF-STBY-ON.
I installed one in an Ampeg solid state bass amp that thumped like crazy. Tamed it right down.
From off, the power pole is on in two positions. The speaker pole only closes in the top position. So before power on or off, the speaker switch is already disconnected.
I wired it into the speaker ground switch on the headphone jack in this case.
A Fender with the standard rocker switch may need some oversize washers or drilling a new hole, but this is the best and cheapest pop solution I have found for SSamps

Sunn's Coliseum was notorious for speaker thump when powering up or down -- that switch might be a worthy upgrade.
