On a modern 3-conductor AC plug, you'll find that it is polarized, with one of the prongs slightly larger than the other. Connect the BLACK wire there. That's the "hot" side of the power cable. The WHITE wire is the neutral (return) and connects to the smaller prong. The GREEN wire is the ground (brits call this "earth") and it must be wired to the center prong.

What you write is for the wall outlet wich have a larger hole to receive the white wire ,not the black one.
The 3 prongs should match with this.

A 3 prongs plug don't have, in most case a larger pin, look at my picture, modern 2 prongs sometimes a larger one.

You may have all your vintage amps with 3 prong with reverse polarity ?

Yes and if you notice the silver screw ( lighter color on diagram) on the receptacle will go to the white wire (neutral) and the gold color screw ( darker color on diagram) goes to hot, and your ground (earth) is normal green, as is the wire in the plug going to your gear

I have seen three-prong plugs with wider tangs, on neutral side. I redid the wiring on this old house, about 20 years ago. Used all copper, all outlets 3-prong, correctly grounded.

This after the first few years of constant circuit breaker popping. Bad outlet connections. Lots of AC line noise.

New breaker box, Topaz isolators on computer, TV, and lab bench lines ---- no more electrical problems.

Page 4 of '59 Bassman owner's manual, under PARTS LIST (PCB Assembly Continued) has whole sets of fuses, depending on Country of export.

Your amp may also have smaller fuses, inside the chassis, on the output section of the amp. This is required in Europe. I'm not sure about South America.

I have the original MADE IN USA version, RI's never arrived to my country.
A bassman amp cost around 2000 bucks here. ;)

Very Stupid Quiestion???????
When cut the cable and remove the old plug for the new one, any risk of shock from the chassis ungrounded?

I'd imagine just use the same fuses that came with the amp. Are you using the solid-state or tube rectifier? My understanding is one of the fuse tends to pop, if the tube rectifier is bad. Looks like 3 and 4amp fast blow types, according to schematic. Like your photo... one is in black holder (accessible from top of amp). The other is inside amp, in its own two prong holder.

I use the SS .
For 125 v fuses the only way to get them is buying international , here is impossible.
Need the name or denomination to buy in USA or other place.
They are fast blow.
With some spares can try the bias pot mod.
In the manual dont show specific code or name , 3 and 4 amp fuse only.
