I am looking at a Boogie 112 cabinet loaded with an E-V EVM12 (Black Shadow) driver and I know nothing about this speaker.
I've never even heard of it.
The only Black Shadow I am familiar with is the Celestion C90.

Can anyone tell me how this driver sounds/behaves?
All info and impressions will be appreciated.

In my brief experience with the Black Shadow EV I found it somewhat similar to a Celestion V30 but with a slightly enhanced top end. Not real bright/crisp like a JBL -- just more articulate above 3kHz or so. A nice speaker overall (a bit heavy to tote though).

Yes, the magnet does look a bit large.
200 watts capacity seems like overkill.
I imagine it doesn't break up much?
Hopefully so.
I much prefer my "grind" to come from the amp rather than the speaker.

No break up that I could detect......with a 200-watt power-handling capability, it has headroom for days and days and days.

So, I bought that cabinet.
You know, for just in case I need to get louder.

So, that box I made for my little Boogie made the amp seem just a little "bigger".
This cabinet makes the little bugger feel like I'm playing a Super Reverb or maybe even something bigger.
It's almost in Twin territory.
95% of the time I won't use the cab but will just use the box I made.
For those times I do use the cab .... wow.
Your eval from memory of the E-V was real good, Rog.
It's definitely a wide range driver.
It goes both deeper and higher than the C90 but never gets ice-picky.
I like it lots.

I haven't tried it while pushing the amp's front end yet, just clean.
Too late at night to be waking the neighbourhood.
My headroom is way up.

That's a potent-looking stack, Matt -- congratulations. I'm glad you like the tone.
