Can anyone lead me in the right direction on understanding the different controls on this amp? I'm new to electric guitars and don't have the knowledge base to understand how they all interact or effect each other. A user manual or a cheat sheet listing the control knob settings for several "common" settings would get me started.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Most electric guitar amps, especially Fenders, use a tone stack type circuit for tone controls.
You can find out if you have a tone stack. One of its characteristics is when all the tone controls are at minimum, all the sound goes away, shunted to ground.
So the first thing about tone settings is to not lower them so much as to dump all your tone into the toilet.

The treble control works differently than the bass and mid.
The treble control sweeps up and down the audio spectrum, from bass to treble. It should be called the Master Tone control.
The bass and midrange controls add and subtract a narrow band of fixed frequencies to the treble signal.

Since guitar music is mostly midrange, most turn up the mid control.
The treble control is mixed in for the correct tone and brightness.
The bass control is set high for solo play to bring out resonance. It is set low when playing with a bass player, so you don't step on his playing with your lower harmonics.
