Just got a new Champion 100 and am very happy with it so far. I do have a possible issue with the control panel, or more specifically, the control panel sticker (the printed piece under the knobs with the name of each knob and input/output on it).

On my unit, the sticker seems to be too large as it extends below the control panel itself and hangs over the front grille. I can easily slip my finger under it and feel its sticky back. Hope I'm explaining this sufficiently as it's kind of hard to describe.

At any rate; is this right? Do all units of this model have the same "feature"? Obviously, it doesn't impact performance, but it's only a matter of time before it catches on something while I'm loading it in the car and starts to tear off.

Can any other Champion 100 owners out there tell me if their control panel sticker is larger than the control panel itself, or does it fit flush?

Thanks in advance.

Not quite sure what your talking about.

The front speaker grill is attached by Velcro. It can easily be removed and reset if that’s your issue.

On my amp - with the speaker grill attached, it pretty much lines up with the lower edge of the control panel plate (where all the controls are identified, vol, treble, bass, etc). If anything, you might hit the dial knobs sticking out.

After re-reading your post. I kind of know what your mean.

The (control label) sticker applied onto the control panel plate. I have a little overlap, its not that large.
And like I say it pretty much aligns itself with the speaker grill.

If it really is an issue to you, I'd work with your dealer for a replacement.
Nothings perfect, but mine doesn't seem as bad as you say.

Thanks jack, that's helpful.

I think resetting the speaker grill is a good tip. If the grill sat a bit higher, and bit less deeply into the cabinet it might help reduce that gap. You mentioned that it can be easily removed, but mine doesn't want to go easily. I can hear the Velcro starting to give, but I can't get a good enough grip to get the grill off. How do you remove yours?

Also worth noting; I contacted the retailer, they looked some other models they have in stock and they tell me they're all like that.

yeah,
Just get a small pry tool (flathead screwdriver) and slowly work around the the outside of the grill, all edge's. Careful not to damaged the edges of the cabinet by prying too hard. Perhaps use a cloth to protect it.
I think once you start to get it disengaged it will be easily removed.

Funny thing, when I bought the amp new (online) and opened the carton my whole grill cloth was disengaged.
That's how I figured it out, how it was attached. That shipping is tough on things.
Just keep prying.

Best to use a wooden popsicle stick, bamboo chopstick, or something similar that's less potentially damaging to grill cloth than a metal implement.

+1

Absolutely agree with Arjay,
that's a better way to do it.
