Hello, I'm new here and looking forward to being a contributing member as well as meeting you all. Thanks for having me.

I recently purchased a '68 DRRI...which I absolutely love. Only issue...the reverb intermittently will get very weak. This happens regardless of which channel I am in. While playing I can hear the reverb level drop significantly without doing anything to the amp. And then, if I'm lucky, it will come back with 100% signal strength. I have swapped tubes with no change. I pulled the tank and it looked intact with no apparent issues. I wiggled the tank when removed from the cabinet while playing and heard no change. I thought it may have been due to a bad connection but I think I have proven otherwise with my testing. My next step is to swap out tanks and see if the problem stays or goes away.

What say you? Your help is much appreciated!

Look something bad ( connection, solder ...) inside the amp.

Try new reverb tank to the amp cable; any home stereo cable will work

Amp is on warranty for many years IMO, return to the store.

Try disconnecting the footswitch and see if the symptom disappears. There are many documented instances where the footswitch was defective.

+1

Take the POC into an authorized service center and have them fix it.

:x

That's my next step if a tank swap doesn't resolve. My buddy has a tank I can throw in. I'll also use different RCA cables to see if that helps. If neither help, I will bring it in for warranty repair.

fondled duck, your handle puts me in mind of a famous cannuck PM's semi-scandolous remark on the steps of the big house all those many years ago.

It has me wondering if perhaps ....

No, you didn't, as there is no such amp. You might be referring to a '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb, which is not a "reissue".

Good luck

IMO this new amp must not have issue with cables, or reverb tank.
Easy to test if you have spair from a friend.

Amp circuit may have issue and need to see a Fender service fender

Be careful messing around with the amp. It might void your warranty if modifications are evident. Take it back for exchange or refund. You shouldn't have to deal with this.

Haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about. Perhaps I'm playing too loud, or you're too old? ;)

Only a Canuck from my generation would get that reference.
Doesn't matter.
Never mind.

Be sure to return the amp to a totally factory-stock condition before requesting warranty service. If there's any evidence of tampering, the technician could void your warranty and tell you to pound sand.
