I have a Bose L1Compact with a Tonematch mixer, a Fender Princeton Chorus DSP amp, an SM57 mic and an MXL R80 Ribbon mic. I play a Fender strat with pedals (blues) and sing at a small venue, using my iPod loaded with backing tracks. I've been told to either mic up the amp directly with the MXL or ditch the amp and get an amp modeler instead (e.g. Fender Mustang). Any ideas on a setup to get the best sound (comments welcome)?
