Hi, I recently got a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe secondhand and it came with a very noisy hum, which wasn't affected by the volume and it didn't matter if I had a guitar plugged into it or not. Interestingly, if you run a guitar into the power amp in, there's no hum whatsoever. Any thoughts on what the issue is?

Check all 12 XX7 tubes,
Input jacks shorting contact to ground ; contact clean ? Solder are good ?
Filter caps in power supply ; bad filter caps or bad solders

When you plug into the "Power Amp In", the entire preamp section is bypassed.

The first/easiest thing to check would be the preamp tubes. Substitute a known good preamp tube into each position, one at a time and see if the hum changes.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.
