15 March 2017 - Some months ago I bought (second hand) a G-Dec 3 Fifteen and it has performed entirely satisfactorily during that time. The computer I use is an iMac (OSX Yosemite, v.10.10.5) and the Fuse software has always connected to the G-Dec and to the Internet without any trouble.

Last night I went to use the G-Dec and although it switched on and lit up, it was silent (other than, when I switched it off, that 'pukk' noise amps often make). Neither the loudspeaker nor the headphones work.

I switched to a different guitar and tried different leads. I even tried the auxiliary guitar input round the back. The tuner does respond to twisting the machine heads, so the unit is certainly 'seeing' the guitar, but nothing produces any sound. I've done that 'reset to factory settings' thing.

Today I did all that again, just in case, but nothing is any different. I've now connected the G-Dec to my computer with the supplied USB cable, as I've done before, but this time the Fuse software hangs up at 'Loading please wait'.

All things considered, my fear is that the G-Dec needs to be taken to a fixer, though I'm hoping that Forum users will recognise the symptoms and know of a home fix. A guitarist friend reckons the likely cost of professional fixing means it would be cheaper to simply buy another G-Dec, but of course G-Decs are out of production and it was difficult enough to find this one. In any case I rather like G-Decs (certainly compared to my previous no-frills Marshal amp) and since I do actually have one I'd rather keep it than throw it away.

One final point is that a week or so previously I moved the unit from a shady corner to a more convenient place, but a place where the sun now shines on the back of it. It is only March, so the sun isn't strong, and of course it has worked OK in this new location up until yesterday.

I live in retirement on the south coast of England so if any Forum-user who lives in the UK can suggest who in my neck of the woods might be able to deal with this (assuming it's beyond me being able to fix it), that info would be much appreciated. I wish I had better news for you, but it sounds like a serious problem.
The fact that the tuner works is an indication that the audio input string is working all the way into the digital section.
The pop at turnoff indicates the audio string on the output is working as well.
That leaves the digital processing and d/a converter circuitry.
Troubleshooting digital circuits is a non-starter for most techs.
You may open it up and wiggle all the connectors to see if anything happens. Its worth taking a look, but not too deep
