Hi folks. After falling in love with the tiny Champion 20 practice amp, I thought I'd upgrade to the 40. The 12" speaker, two channels, and footswitch made it really appealing as an at-home practice amp with some bite! Anyway I just picked one up with the two button footswitch and I've got two concerns:

1. There's a hiss. It's annoying and increases with volume and when turning up the treble. This was not present on my 20.

2. Switching channels via the footswitch isn't instantaneous. There's like a half second cut out before it switches. Hard to time clean to dirty changes when there's that delay.

Anyway, are either of these things typical? Just wanted to check in with other Champion 40 owners before I got this one looked at.

Funny... that first link was me posting to the UG forums about the same thing!

Anyway, are you saying that this hissing behavior is just typical for the amp, or that I happen to have a bad one?

And what about the footswitch? Is that how it's supposed to work?

Footswitch do not work as it should do.
I would return amp to the store on warranty .

If an exchange is offered, be sure to check the new amp *before* you take it home.
