It's been quite a few months since I've seen a VCXD thread. My VCXD has been great! I play through it almost everyday and I've done some recording with it. I've even dragged out some of my old analog pedals to use with it. Works great, sounds great, no problems. My other amps are collecting dust.

How do you like your Vibro Champ?

I played one a month or two ago and I really liked it. Much more than the SuperChampXD, which seems to be getting all the love out of the two. It sounded a little "boxey" for me, but I did have a ton of fun playing with the voices and effects. I may get one down the line.

Yep, I think you're right. The SCXD is getting all of the love.

I use the vibro champ at home for both practice and some recording here and there. I love it....just the right volume for me at home.

Me, too. I live in a condo where my neighbors wouldn't appreciate the 15w from a SCXD. The 5w VCXD is perfect for me.

Alright, I finally broke down and bought one. Mine was "slightly used" but in perfect shape. It sounds way better than the one I tested in the above post. I'm a proud owner now.

Great! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. I always wanted a Princeton Reverb, but the new one is just too much money (and so are the old ones). I'm not sure how the VCXD is selling, but apparently the SCXD is doing very well. I think Fender has done very well with the Vintage Modified series.

Good luck!

Anyone got a way to get a little more volume out of these. I really like the amp and I use it with a few external pedals.

Ive been playing with a drummer on occasion and it would be great to get a little more out of this amp for that situation, maybe it's not possible.

Been looking to get a DRRI, but if I could get a little more from the VCXD I could save a grand.

Anyone try one with a 2x10 cab?

I have an old solid state Princeton 65 amp. It was much maligned when it came out, but the amp is absolutely clean. I've used the VCXD Line Out to hook up to the P65. It was LOUD!! And the P65 today is cheap. Just a suggestion.

So what are the differences between the VCXD and SCXD other than wattage and two channels on the SC. Is that it? Is there really an advantage to the two channels if you're just using it at home?

just curious.

The SCXD has a larger speaker and is a Class AB amp while the VCXD is Class A if that means anything to you. I just noticed price increases and the SCXD is up another $30.

I love my vcxd. Especialy the way the class A poweramp compresses the champ setting when you turn everything up full. I do however wish it would handle more than 4 ohms. The reverb sims are great too. Anybody know how to get rid of the digital pre-amp and install a valve one? thats the only thing i have to change about it.
