Is there any difference between the current 57 Custom Deluxe vs the 57 Deluxe of a few years ago?

Thanks.

That's not correct , I have a 57' Deluxe, it is PP, no printed circuit boards at all. Also has Mercury transformers, this earlier 57' Deluxe came with a reissue Jensen P12Q (which I replaced with an original 1958 P12Q), also the new Custom Deluxe has some new 2nd channel, my 2007 is based on the original 5E3 design. Mine aslo does not have the cheesy cage around the tubes or those silly rubber covers over the power switches.

Sorry for not being specific. The older discontinued one was being sold in 2011sh and was just called 57 Deluxe. I know there was just a head version in 2014sh that was supposedly a first.

I came across a combo called 57 Deluxe. The sales guy said it was a reissue but I knew that much. He didn't seem like he knew much about it. Anyway, just curious how that compares to the new 57 Custom series Deluxe. Which is more authentic to a real vintage 50s era tweed Deluxe?

I've tried googling and I keep getting the new amp.

Thanks.

If you want closer to an original 50's 5E3 Deluxe, you want the older one like I have, it's just called 57' Deluxe, the new " 57' Custom Deluxe" is a different animal, modern 2nd channel, modern speaker ect.

If I wanted a tweed Deluxe Amp I'd buy the Victoria Amp "20112" clone. It's the closest thing to an original-spec 5E3 available. I'd ditch the supplied Eminence speaker of course and replace it with a Chicago-Made P12N but that's really all the amp needs to produce those classic tweed tones. And with a lifetime warranty, it's a total no-brainer.

Sorry if I sound like a broken record here, but after my experience with Fender's "HAND WIRED" Vibro-King I would never ever put money down for another new production Fender amplifier. Especially not their high price point USA amps. Frankly I do not trust them or their marketing. You can get a clone or other boutique brand (like the Victoria) for either the same or less money except you can be sure of what components were used in its construction and where they came from. Not to mention take a look at how clean the wiring is on a proper builder's amp vs the rainbow spaghetti found in Fender's hand wired amps.

TL;DR: There's better options out there that give you a higher quality product for less $$$.
