Thanks Timsaudio.
You may be right. Although, I think techs shouldn't expect costumers to tell them what to do in order to repair an equipment. Costumers don't have to know about electronics. But they have to know how to diagnose a problem.
In my case, once the tuves are new and tested, I don't feel confortable to tell them to put 12 tubes on my amp. But, changing the forter caps and doing a resolder job seems a fair start.
Regards.

No, but I think they should be able to expect that if the customer wants a diagnosis and recommendations based on that, the customer pays for it.
If a customer won't pay for diagnosis, he needs to state exactly what he wants done.

That was never an issue. I didn't asked them to work for free. I just told them to make a diagnosis in order to repair the amp. Obviously, that has to be paid.

Well, I'm just trying to find a way forward in this experience. Lacking a diagnosis, replacing a few parts and resoldering while it is in house can move the issue forward.
Diagnosing intermittent amps is a difficult procedure. A cold soak overnight in a refrigerator or cold spray can trigger the symptom. A hair dryer on the circuit boards can make a solder joint fail before your very eyes. But if you can't make it happen, a process of elimination is the only way forward. If you can't put your finger on the problem, you can only eliminate possible sources. You have replaced tubes and a tank, so its not that. A few caps and resoldering are the next likely suspects. Go after that to be sure thats not the source of the problem.
I wish I could put a magic finger on the culprit, but this is the same time and labor intensive process I use here..

Hello friends,

I picked up the amp this morning. It was around 90 bucks.

They proceeded according tech note TN-02-4, changed V5, it was cracked (pre reverb).

They done more things I can’t explain because I don’t know anything about electronics, but he said the springs in the tank were touching something, and than picking up noises around. They adjusted the springs, and corrected the angle they work.

I tested the amp and it was awesome. Hope the cracking noise won’t show up after few hours of use.

Thanks to all of you. You made the difference.
