I have an opportunity to pick up a Fender Mustang IV Amp for $299.
The amp is the first version that came out. So it's a v1 not the newer v2.
Are there many differences between the two?
I heard the v1 is a lot noisier?
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi oggyswain, sorry this went unanswered for so long.

The v1 Mustang III-V amps had an issue with the power supply that caused some odd sound artifacts depending on the amp settings. A lot of players did not have any particular problem with this, others did. I still use my v1 Mustang III and I'm happy with it.

The v2 Mustang amps do not have this problem. They also have some extra amp models and effects added that the v1 amps do not have.

Those are pretty much the main noticeable differences. They do look slightly different too (different covering and font). I like the look of the v1 amps better.

Edit: one more important difference is the addition of XLR outputs on the v2 M.IV amps.
