 an early fender deluxe 85, it not only has the 2 channel setup it has the eccential reverb and the holding power for the important lead action as well as the tone control for the chorus and rythum and enough deep tone bass action to hold the rich volume levels for different types of picking styles and music genres. I play country/gospel/bluegrass and this amp fills the bill. Thanks Fender, You did it for Me, I'm sold. :!:

Silvertone twin twelve. 1484. I had a new one back in the 60's when I was a teenager. That thing really played well and loud. And all for a rediculously low price. They are still loved by those lucky enough to own one. Wish I still had mine. (But then memory can be kinder than actuality. I loved it then but who knows how good it really was.)

Hi Bob,

I remember trying one of those, and the amp itself sounded great. The only downside I remember about that amp was the reverb sounded really "boing-y" but other than that, it was a sweet amp.

Harley, You are correct on that point. But remember, the new guitar player really doesn't sound all the wonderful themselves. So, as a learning amp and an inexperienced player who's to know how good it sounded... LOL... But for the price and what they were aimed at they are reasonable.

Bob,
That's a valid point too. I still have my first guitar and amp from 1967, both Vox.

Both of my Fender amps are my favorites, the Blues Jr. is my 1st pick. I had a Vox and a G Dec 30 that I sold. My Roland Micro Cube is great for traveling and I won`t sell that amp.

My Voodoo moded Marshall SL1959 Plexi...
SWEETNESS......
So true vintage tones creamy doesnt describe.
The break up is almost like fuzz.. very sweet.

I do also like my new Deluxe Reverb reissue, since i changed the tubes and put a Hellatone 30 speaker in it.

I've owned a Silvertone 2X12, Peavey 4X12 solid state, Acoustic Boogie Clone, Ampeg SVT 4x10, two Fender Princeton IIs, Fender Princeton 65 RI, Atomic Reactor 118, Peavey Classic 30, Leslie 145, Line 6 POD 2.0 and a PodXt

I've played thru a Blackface Princeton, Super Reverb, Twin, and a Silverface Deluxe Reverb.

Of these amps my favorites are the Fender Princeton 65 RI and the Atomic Reactor 118 with an installed Line 6 PodXt. They both have "full bodied" tone, and plenty of bottom end combined with good tube compression and warmth.

I would like to try the Bassman RI for its classic crunch tone.

I've never been a Marshall man. They're great but too loud. My idea of good distortion requires putting the amp on 7 to 10 and relying on the power tubes and speaker(s) to do the rest. Or stepping on a good pedal (my overdrive pedal: Fulltone OCD). Distortion channels (aka "Channel 2") never quite get the sound I'm looking for.

My 1965 Deluxe Reverb Reissue is number 1, closely followed by a Vox AC15 with a Blues Junior to save my back when I feel like playing in other rooms.

So far, I tried a Vox AC15DT, I own a Roland Cube 20 and a Blues Junior. I prefer the Blues Junior.
