I play a little more bass and banjo than 6 or 12 string g-tar, but I am so happy with the Blues Deluxe reissue I recently got. Also works v. well with lap steel and the new Jag Baritone [the HH one]--you can go with bass amp or a nice guitar amp like the Blues Deluxe reissue. But its so nice that I don't have to deal with pedals and all that--the Blues Deluxe has all the natural, native effects I could want, plus.

Actually...it is my Peavey Classic 30 re-tubed with JJ/Tesla Tubes.

This amp really sings and is very powerful. 8)

ive had a buncha amps in my time, mostly all tube, started playing in 68,so i owned a silver face deluxe, prolly made in or around 69,then I had a bandmaster silver face ,a silver face twin,,,,I bought all these used, they were very cheap at the time,I payed no more then 150.00 for either of them.then I had a univox 200 l with 2 four 12 cabs, that was followed by marshall 50 watt head made in 70,that I ran through the univox bottoms that came loaded with eminence speakers.then i had a carvin ,with a 7 band eq and the first master/gain volumes I ever had..after that it was on to a fender stereo chorus bought in maybe like 94,,,,after that was a marshall 2 12 combo, and then I ran into a crate vintage club 30 watt 12 inch speaker,,this coupled with a yamaha fx500 got me the most incredible clean sound I had ever heard!!!!!stillis to date,,I also bought a crate vintage club 50 watt with a 15 in it,same thing there with the fx 500,most incredible.i have owned the crates since 95 and love them both, when i recently put them both in the shop for fixin,i bought a super champ xd to fill in for the time being,,its not really loud enough for me to gig without a mic in front of her,but I do like the sounds I can get from it,,and running the champs line out into the crates is like "oh yeah baby"
you can just see em runnin for cover when ya strike that combo up .
so im going to say I like the crates and the super champ xd best

used to have: 65'twin, ProTube Twin, JCM-900, etc... now using Cyber Twin SE exclusively. SE is the best amp I have ever owned. I use 2 SE's simultaneously for a 3-D sound.

am considering adding the jazz master ultra light because it too is a great sounding amp and is incredibly portable. great for just grabbing your gear, showing up and playing.

ciao,
johnny.

My current amp is by far my favorite it a 1990 59 Bassman RI. When I plug in a TS808 tube screamer with my 62 RI strat I have a hard time stopping.

I really like my Traynor YCS50. Since my Vox AD50VT blew up, it is my only amp! I'm thinking of getting the new Fender Superchamp XD to complement my Traynor. I think it could be a really cool little amp. Another cool little amp is the Traynor YCV20WR. It's a 15W Class A...for attitude, and sports a 12" Celestion Greenback.

Wozzman Replies:

I have had a super champ xd for some months now and all I can say is I dont think you would be dissapointed .straight out of the box it is exciting because of its versatility ,you'll spend hrs marveling over the different textures .
I have 2 15 yr old Crate Vintage Clubs that I just had rebuilt and i bought the super xd to fill in.what a surprise. Now that I have the Crates back i got the idea to run the line out of the champ into them ,,,,holy smokes,,cant wipe the smile from my face

My first amp. A badger 30watt. No gain no reverb. Pure unaccosted guitar sound. The nearest it had to an effect was a funny mid control that consisted of a gain and a frequency control. Gain was the ammount of mid, frequency was where the middle went, high or low.
Funny quirky amp. Didnt sound brilliant but had some eq range to it.

That's a tough question for me to answer since I still have all of them, plus a few more. The ones I favor using the most when I want pure tube guitar tones are:

-1970 Princeton Reverb
-1973 Vibrolux Reverb
-1969 Twin Reverb-Amp
-1969 Twin Reverb-Amp
-1971 Twin Reverb
-1972 Twin Reverb

There's also a 1970 400PS Head with two old Fender Cabs, (2x12,2x15), but that one makes people's ear drums bleed.

The HRDeville 410 I just got! It Rocks!!!

I regret getting rid of a Princeton Chorus 212 I had in the 1990's. That one was a mistake...
