Hey Folks,

I'm a bit confused about the biasing on Fender Tonemaster amps. I just bought one, and it appears there is a single "fixed" bias pot on the schematic I've seen for the four tubes.

I've got mismatched tubes in there (came like that), and I was going to replace them with matched 6L6wgc tubes as indicated in the manual.

If I put in a matched quad, do I need to rebias? How does bias work on this amp anyway? I've heard different reports.

Also, two of the tube retainers were missing on the amp and the two that are there have a lovely rubber pad that sits between the tube and the metal retainer... nice feature. Can't find these anywhere though...

A.
