What do you think about the Hot Rod Deville.

I just traded my 65 RI TR for one.
The twin is great but too clean.

I have the DeVille 410 and love it. It suits me to a "T". It's perfect for my type of music, which is blues, old rock and alittle jazz every now and then. I got the 410 because of the setup, I like Bassmans and this is as close as I could get to one without blowing the coin for a Bassman.

I've been able to dial in every tone that I could possibly want out of this thing. I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

The Hot Rod series amps are the best "working mans amp" out there, without a doubt.

Thanks,

I feel the same too. I have the 2x12 and love it.
Have a VOX AD VT50. I love the AC30 sound, but it quit on me 2 different times during a gig.
The Deville can match most any sounding amp out there.
Love the Deville

I have a 2x12 as well and love it. Like ^ said, you can get almost any sound out of it if you play around with it enough.

^^I went with 2x12 cause it seemed a little heavier on the bass side, which works out well playing stuff that borders on heavy metal. Other than that there wasn't a whole lot that factored into the choice.

I prefer the 410 as it gets you closer to the classic Bassman sound. However, it does lack some low end compared to the 212.

The only issue I've ever had is the sheer volume. In some of the smaller clubs we play I have to run it at 2, which doesn't really allow the amp to "breathe" and suppresses the tone that lives inside this thing. Then a friend gave me his Hot Plate to use at a gig - problem solved!! Highly recommend this.

2x12 or 4x10? Like I said in an earlier post, it's setup like the Bassman. Also the 410 pushes more air.

I love the fact that these Hot Rods have alot of headroom. My tone is more on the clean side, so I'm able to get alittle loud without having too much distortion come in.

I truly have found the perfect amp. It's kinda on the heavy side, but I'm not gonna take away points for that.

There's only one thing that pisses me off, the darn thing won't fit in the trunk of my Lincoln without having to lay it down. Nothing I can do about it though, trunks don't get any bigger and I'm definetly not moving to another amp.

I've a second hand DeVille 410. Sounds great. I never knew that there was a difference between the American en Mexican versions. I'm lucky with an old American version with Blue Alnico speakers wich has an more specified sound then the newer ones with the "special designed Eminence".

The differences I've found are different speakers. I've got Blue Alnico speakers, just like the bassman. There is a different mounting on the tubes. And the wood that's been used is thicker.
