Whoa - you said made "decently." In my opinion current Fender amps are far better than "decent" in build quality, and are plenty good for most of Fender's generally satisfied customers. For example, FWIW on Musician's Friend, the DRRI currently gets 4.5 stars based on 160 reviews. Most reviews are 5-star, with a small percentage of one to three star reviews where users had problems. (Many, but not all of the problems are hums and hisses that could be tube issues.) There are also some 4 star reviews where the user liked the amp but complained about some feature - e.g., no midrange control or not enough headroom--not really the amp's fault. That's evidence of better than "decent" quality -- though no doubt it would help if Fender sourced better, more consistent tubes or figured out how to prepare amps for shipping reliably without tubes coming loose or going bad. At least tubes are easily replaced by the user, and the 5-year warranty is there if needed.

That would be like a wine connoisseur buying a bottle of Kirkland Signature cabernet to add to his collection of fine aged wines.

Still not resolved, but a few more questions, if you all don't mind....

1. Are there any Fender amps that are made decently? Some are priced as high as $3000. Certainly they must be good quality....workmanship, parts, and design.

2. Would the Allen Accomplice be considered the best and most accurate clone of the Fender Deluxe Reverb?

3. Are there any other brands that make quality amps for a thousand or so?

Thanks.
Those are good questions which I will defer to others with more experience. Only speaking for myself, I've never heard anything as fine as Fender clean and reverb in any other amp manufacturer. The Allen amp that was presented here looks very intriguing and kind of wish I had known about them, though expensive. Nevertheless, the Fender Blackface amps are all I've ever wanted and was not disappointed in my TRRI purchase in regards to the "sound". The design of the re-issue amps follows the originals as far as my ears can tell. The problems are from the PCB's, solder, tubes, and perhaps QC. I just learned yesterday that a new Fender Authorized Service Center opened locally so my 5 year warranty is looking better.

My suggestions to you (OP). 1) Check out the preamp tubes sent by Sweetwater; 2) if that fails, get your money back; 3) shop locally (within reasonable driving distance) for your DRRI; 4) if you find one, test it extensively in a quiet IN STORE area; 5) if you like it, buy it.

I would not give up yet on the Fender DRRI, even though I trashed the QC a little bit here. I am usually an after purchase shopper and I haven't found anything that comes close to my TRRI in sound quality. I don't care for early breakup, just clean and this amp has it (not Randall, VOX, Peavey, Mesa, etc.). If you prefer metal and/or distortion, there are probably more and maybe better choices.

No, it means that I already own an extensive collection of the finest Fender amps ever made and I don't need the aggravation that those bright, shiny pieces of trash sitting on a GC's showroom floor are certain to cause.

And I prefer single-malt scotch and blended whiskey over fermented Kool-Aid.

I love that picture, I saved it, thanks.

I hope this amp issue has been fixed by now.
Even Sweetwater tried to help.
I hope Fender supports it.
I'll have to read the warranty.
Money back.
