It's just $999.99. Yikes!

Order two.

(in case one gets stolen)

Hello,

I've had the same situation, having an amp that I like, but that is not suitable under the sound-level aspect for bedroom use.

First thing it depends what is “bedroom level” for you, I suppose that bedroom level doesn't mean the same thing for a single guy living in a house than for a married guy living in an apartment with spouse and kids.

In my case I have (I had) two problems:
- My amp is a Blues Junior, that I like very much but that is quite too loud for my apartment
- I’m the worse guitarist on this side of the Mississippi (in fact I’m a bass guy trying to also learn guitar and not only with my Bjr am I noisy but the noise I make is ugly)

Buying an amp specific for home was out of question because I like my amp, I like the fact to play a “real amp” (ok it’s ridiculous.. I know) and also money wise.

So I bought a little accessory from Koch (Koch is a Dutch company so I don’t know if their products are sold in the US, but other companies very likely have the same kind of accessories), the name is Dummybox Home.
It’s a box that sits between the speaker out and the speaker and provides various functions :

- attenuator , using it the Bjr can safely be used in my apartment and the sound is ok for me
- line out with speaker simulation allowing me to plug the whole in my sound card and either record, or even better by night, use headphones.

The cost is ok (roughly the same cost that for a second hand SS amp specific for home use, far less than the cost of a THR), I bought it used but new is about 150 euros (about 170$) and it transformed my savage Blues Junior in a very civilized little beast when I want to make my horrible noise at home. If I want to play with others outside home I just need to unplug the box and put back the speaker plug.

I've tried all kinds of small tube amps and modelers and nothing sounds as good as my Fender Champion 110 with upgraded speaker at sane home volumes. I have an Eminence Lil' Buddy in there but it also sounds great through a Jensen MOD 10-70 through the speaker out.

I see the 5E3 is back as well ... and without the EC shenanigans.
I do wonder though why they are called "Custom"?
When the Vibrolux came out we learned the "Custom" appellation meant it was not a re-issue.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Specifically, it denoted some special features not found on Leo's original AA964 design. Those included reverb and tremolo available on both channels and adjustable NFB (ie: a presence control) in lieu of the traditional bright switches.

Another suggestion: I've been very happy with the sound of my Super Sonic 22's clean and overdrive channels at every volume from bedroom quiet on up. Clean channel volume control is touchy at low levels but I've used a volume pedal in the effects loop to control it without much loss of tone.
