Hi everyone!
I just bought a frontman 10g as a bedroom practice amp and I think that for what it is and costs it is not bad.
I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to swap the speaker, with which 6" speaker may I do this?

Is it possible to put an 8" in this amp?
Thanks in advance.

I would not put any money in this amp.

The cost the amp new ; $75, how cost a better 6 inches or 8 inches ?

If you can put a 8 inches ( I don't know myself ) you have to remove the gril cloth, cut the baffle and put gril cloth back.

Save your money and buy a good amp

+1!

Use the amp for what it is......an inexpensive practice amp. When your ear becomes more sophisticated, step up to a better amp.

I am totally with you on buying a good amp and for this reason I have my good ole Orange Rockerverb 50, fellow in many battles.
I bought the frontman as a bedroom amp, and for some crazy modding ideas like this one. I know a speaker will cost more than the amp new, but I don't care :)
Anyway, any ideas on a good 6-8" speaker? :)

A Kendrick Blackframe 8 is a great speaker, but will probably cost more than your amp. But if $$$ is no object...the Kendrick is one of the best out there.

A 6 or 8 inches speaker is not a good invest. Good 10 or 12 inches is better 'cause you may use it in many amp.

Why don't you buy or built a small cab for a 12 inches to plug on you Frontman?

Yep good idea, this requires to mod the amp anyway, I think it would be just a matter of making an output in parallel with Headphones output before the resistors that make that output suitable for headphones.

I'll think about it ;)

Why mod the amp? just wire the new cab to the amp speaker wire .
Amp speaker disconnect.
