Saw this on Joe's Facebook page:
"A blend circuit 1952 Fender Telecaster and the first (hopefully of a few more) Fender high power tweed twins to roll off the Fender assembly line in 56 years."

Sounds like a signature amp is in the works... High power twin... I hope they're gonna be made available to us mere mortals... am I the only one to be excited about it? Does anyone have more info? Fender?

A high-power tweed 5F8-A Twin Amp is likely to disappoint.

Why do you think that Fender chose to re-issue the low-power version?

Mr. Bonamassa may have need for such a platform but he'll likely be but one of a very small minority.

What do you mean by "likely to disappoint?" You assume it won't sound good or Fender won't release it?

I'm sure it'll sound great. Loud and great, clean and great.

Not exactly the attributes most players desire today.

Why do you think Eric Clapton selected the low-power Twin for his signature EC model?

If the prospect is that titillating, why settle for a crappyass re-issue?

Go find yourself an original and be done with it.

They're available right now.

There are a few reasons:

1. I don't have $10,000+ to shell out on a guitar amp;
2. The new amp may have very interesting mods such as attenuation and different speakers;
3. If it's approved by Joe I know the amp will sound spectacular;
4. Buying a vintage amp won't support the current Fender company and its workers;
5. I don't want to deal with the hassles of a 50+ year old amp; (maintenance, keeping it original, etc)
6. I don't want to own gear that would be near impossible to replace if damaged or stolen;
7. Original tweed twins are impossible to find on this side of the pond, don't want the hassle of having to use a step down transformer (the amp is heavy enough as it is)

Not my cross to bear, mon amí.

But I'd advise against holding your breath in anticipation of some nebulous dream amp.

Victoria will sell you a period correct amplifier that
1) will be built rock solid,
2) will sound exactly like the original and
3) won't set you back $10,000 +.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

For the seriously brand-conscious, that simply will not do.

:lol:
