Yes a HRD, great amp. I own a Blues Deluxe, its a similar size. I think the cabinet size really makes the HRD sound good, also full controls, reverb, with a classic kind of Fender - 5881- tubes. Nice, that's one to keep.

Congrats on the new amp. New tubes and re-bias is a good idea with these amps as it seems Fender sets them a bit cold.

Enjoy.

Yea same here.. "Great amps"

I have 2001 HRDx that I've gigged hard (IDK... over 1000+ gigs on it? maybe...) still going strong. I've had to touch it up once (Normal stuff for a tube amp) weld & filter cap but the PCB/inside is stupid proof i.e. it's color coded and numbered to the cosponsoring schematic and everything can be repaired or replaced.

Great amp so I bought a HRDx III just this year. I play Country, Blues and Jazz (also a little Classic rock) I can't think of a better amp for what I do. The 40watt range which is very practical & Fender only makes a few amps in it. Stock speaker, or after market both sound good... although I did upgrade my new HRDx III after giving the 12p80 a good break in and listen, (they performed just fine, good speaker) I came to the conclusion they were too British for me. I put some Texas Heat in.

IMO.. 2 things with this amp A) Sounds marginal at low volumes Only when you get the amp up around 4 does the amp perform ( to include the Drive channel... which I think at lower Over Drive settings sound totally serviceable) Clean channel goes without saying anything

B) A external cab should be used. IMO HRDx can be brash (maybe because I've always use a Telecaster??? IDK) but using a cab has always cut the brashness off the HRDx upper frequencies

Great amp, great work horse, great portability. No complaints
