I just bought the Fender Bassbreaker 15 head with Bassbreaker 112 enclosure.
It’s my first tube amp, I'm a complete newby to tube amps and I have a question about the impedance select switch on the back of the head.
The switch is on 8, that’s done in the factory I guess.
It can also be switched to 4 or 16.
The back of my Bassbreaker 112 enclosure says impedance: 8, there’s no selection switch there.
But in the Bassbreaker 15 head manuel the tabel with setting says that when the impedance of the main speaker (I guess that’s my 112 enclosure speaker because it’s the only speaker) is 8 the impedance switch (on the back of the head I guess because that’s the only impedance switch) should be set to 4.
But then in the manuel of the 112 enclosure is written: Only connect speakers that comply with your amplifier’s minimum impedance and maximum power output.
The minimum impedance of the head is 4, and on the back of the 112 enclosure it says 8, so that's 8.
Can someone please tell me how to set the impedance switch on the back of the head?
4, 8 of 16?
I am a little afraid to damage things so I haven’t turned it on yet and I can't wait.

Marchel, Amsterdam

Set the amp's impedance switch to "8Ω".

Match the switch to the cabinet.

Correct.

For optimum efficiency, source and load should always be matched.

The part of the manual that you quote refers to the combo version of your amp.

I have the BB15 combo and it has 2 speaker outputs - one to replace the combo's speaker and another to add a second speaker. As the main combo speaker is 8 ohms, if you add a second 8 ohm speaker in parallel, the combined impedance of the two speakers will be 4 ohms. That's what the manual means.

In short, set it to 8 ohms to match your BB112 speaker. :)
