I'm hoping somebody on here can help, I'm not finding success anywhere else. I have a Bassbreaker 45 Head. All of a sudden, it's pretty quiet. When I try to increase the output from say 1 Watt to the full 45 watts, there's no change. At 45, it should be exploding my eardrums but there's virtually no change in loudness. I tried several different cables, different guitars, I really think it's something with the amp, maybe with a tube? It's only a couple of months old so I wouldn't imagine that a tube is blown or anything like that. But I digress. This is my first all tube amp so I might be missing something basic.

The simplest problem would be a bad potentiometer or fuse. Are you going to do the troubleshooting or fixing?
If not, take it to a service tech via Fender warranty program. If you purchased it from a local music store, that would be your first stop. Be sure to take your receipt.

If possible, I'd like to at least troubleshoot myself. If it's easily fixable, I can do it, and if not I can take it in.

Baseline troubleshooting: confirm
You have the speaker plugged in.
The volume turned up.
The standby switch in the (off)play position.
A guitar connected via cable and its volume turned up. You get no sound or faint sound when using the variable power setting?

By doing maintenance yourself you are aware that the amp produces enough electricity to potentially kill you, even when unplugged.

Unplug the amp.
Check all fuses, refer to the operators manuel.
Remove the knob from the variable power pot spindle. Does the knob have a set screw? Check to see if the spindle turns by hand and influences the volume level, if so replace knob and set screw securely, congrats you fixed it. If not the knob and set screw were functioning properly.
The potentiometer wiper may have a broken internal component or trace. Either replace it or repair it. Either way you should probably have a Fender tech repair your amp or you could void your warranty.

If you choose to continue, get somebody that at least has a copy of the schematics to look at for reference. As far as I know they aren't available to the public yet. You will most likely need to disassemble the chassis from the head in order to de-solder the connections for the variable potentiometer. It would be easiest and cheapest to order a new pot and swap it with the bad one.

Also, check if all tubes are lighting up. Sounds like maybe one output tube may have gone South. Or needs reseating.

Its under warranty, right? Stop fiddling with it and take it to a service center or the place you bought it and have them fix it or make it right.. The last thing you want to hear is "sorry, you voided your warranty when you _____________".
Just my 2c.

Good luck.

Hey everyone, thank you so much for your time responding. I am taking it to a service center, I'm pretty positive that it's something a pro should handle. I'm a little nervous because I got it from Zzounds so I don't have a bill of sale per se, just the invoice. We'll see...
