Hi all

Ive had my HRD III for over three years now and use it quite regularly for rehearsals and gigs at fairly high volume. I've recently noticed a lack of brightness and low hum and changed the preamp tubes. The condition is the same so I am looking to replace the existing stock power tubes which are Groove Tube 6L6 values (GT-6L6 - C (HP) Red 8 KAH) with the same ones. My issue is a can't locate the same valves anywhere and was wondering if the Forum could either point me in the direction where I could order these or alternatively provide some recommendations for replacements that would not differ greatly from the existing ones. Many thanks!

Eurotubes for who live in Europe, not in North America.
I use JJ's in many amps too, they are very good.

Maybe chriscavilla think he will not need a bias with original tubes ?
I never put any tubes without a bias check, original or not

With this amplifier practically any 6L6GC, 7581, 5881 or even KT66 would be cool.
The KT66 may provide more vintage warmth, then 5881. The 6L6GC and 7581 should provide a little more headroom/harder vacuum.

Do bias any set of new match power tubes.

I've used Sovtek 5881s and they sound pretty good. Good price readily available. Durable choice too. Get a quad matched set. Then once you are biased you have a spare set. No need to rebias on the next tube change.
