My wife is about to go to Florida for a week, leaving me here in the Sonoran Desert to crack up and dry, so I told her however much you spend on this trip I am spending also. So I am thinking Fender Super Champ X2, Eminence Lil Buddy 10" hemp cone speaker and foot switch. 3 wires, one from guitar to amp, one from foot switch to amp and one from amp to AC. Light weight grab and go amp. Easy set up. I had that same set up a year ago and I am sorry I sold it.

As of now if I wanna go out and jam with the gear I have, I need a head and cab, pedal board, and guitar, that is 2 heavily laden trips in-out.

The SCX2 is a guitar in one hand, amp in other, both lightweight.....

$474 at Sweetwater, no shipping no tax......

How does your roadie feel about joining the ranks of the unemployed?

If I had a roadie he would do all of the heavy lifting, and I mean heavy 4x12 cabs a half dozen or so, 3 or four heads in a road case, & on and on. Since I am the roadie, I need lightweight gear....

I've considered the SC X2, but I'm concerned it might not cut through the mix depending on the venue. Just how much can you push those 15 watts? Could you play an outdoor show un-mic'd (assuming you're not in a death-metal band)?

I was not overly impressed with the SCX2's volume when it was turned up. A moderate band in a small room would be OK with an non miked drummer who has a decent touch. However I did not BIAS the power tubes like some users suggested. I sold the thing because of that volume concern. I replaced it with an Egnater Tweaker 15 watt head, and truth be told it is only 15 watts also using the same 6V6 tubes, but it is by far and away a bunch louder. Now, I want one again for the portability, the weight, and the size, as well as the fact that I need no external pedals (other than the foot switch) I want it for jams in houses and small rooms, and I want the one trip in-out, guitar in one hand, and amp in the other factor, and then simple and easy set up and take down. If I was playing out in a band situation, I would use the Tweaker and cab, or my Hot Rod Deluxe. But to lug that stuff in and out I need to be paid........
