Hi, new here. I'm wondering if I could get some guidance in choosing between the 68 deluxe reverb and supersonic 22 for home use. The ss22 seems to have the options for what I'm looking for but I do prefer the 68 for sounds.

To my ears the 68 deluxe is a bit better but one minus for me is no master so plus for the super but that one is a bit harsher and noisier in drive from what I can tell from demos.
I tried to go to the local guitar center to check them out in person but they didn't have a ss22 either.

What I'd like to be able to do is also run the line level out to use into my computer with two notes wall of sound and pair with different power sections and speakers there for versatility and recording.
I do know that there is a line out on the supersonic but I have read a bit on other ways to bring the speaker out down to line level on the 68 through the speaker output but don't understand anything beyond that. Affordable options? Otherwise I may pull the trigger on the ss22.

Welcome to the forum.

i went through the same decision process a couple months ago. Even though I typically play with a clean tone, I felt the burn channel on the SS22 added to the versatility of the amp. I did crank up the bias a bit which provide break up a bit sooner.

While the SS22 has an efx loop (send/return), I have not tried using this with a computer. When I record, I stick with my Mustang Mini with its USB.

I was able get the SuperSonic a couple hundred bucks cheaper than the Deluxe as GC has them on clearance in the stores. Last I checked, they are sill full price from GC online.

Both the Deluxe and SS22 sound great IMO. Try to play both side by side to decide which you prefer.

Rumor has it the ss22 may be taken out of the lineup soon.
Have you looked at the Bassbreakers line?
If you like clean-mid-heavy gain options maybe the 15w would fit your needs. Even the 7w is relatively loud at home.
I can certainly understand that a 65/68 deluxe, tone wise is really sweet. They are also really loud, I usually don't play louder than 3-4 on the volume in a 16x20 living room and 2-3 is relatively loud.

Yes, the Bassbreaker line is getting a lot of attention. Personally, I prefer the 6V6 tone of the DLX/SS22 compared to the EL34's in the Bassbreakers.

While there are many foreign components in the SS22, its final assembly was in the USA and the speaker is from Emminence, also USA. When I replaced both my guitar and amp this year, I wanted made in America. Bassbreakers did not have the sound I wanted, and being made in Mexico they were less appealing.

Any musical instrument purchase is frought with emotion and personal opinion. Yes, check out the new Bassbreakers. Get the tone you like.

I have the SS22. I would think a key consideration is whether you want the SS22's high gain "burn" channel or not. If you don't use distorted sounds or prefer to get your dirt from pedals, you don't need the burn channel, and then the decision comes down to which clean tone you like better, which you probably can determine only by playing them.

I really like the SS22's burn channel by the way. It can go from a nice edgy crunch to full-on wail, and it is very expressive. Sounds very full to my ears. Opinions may (and do) differ. It sounds good at low volumes but can get very loud, too. When you crank it and add output tube distortion to the burn channel (which with the 6V6s happens pretty early), it really screams.

A high gain channel coupled with power amp headroom low enough to also overdrive the output tubes is probably a fairly unique feature of the SS22 and maybe one reason it has been so successful, other than portability, versatility, and overall great tone.
