It's gone. Went missing. This is the second I've seen missing on a Blues Jr. Without the ring, the cable is loose and leads to the input cutting out. The jack needs to be replaced to fix this problem. Solder burnt off and new put on for a silly piece of plastic.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hey Fender. What's the deal? If this is a problem, why is there a dumbass piece that gets lost and makes the amp unusable until the whole jack is replaced?

I have never heard of this problem. Mine is just fine.

Actually the input jack is the most common complaint I hear about the blues jr. It is cheap and surface mounted on the pcb. Recipe for failure if you gig it. Mine is played in my basement so I have not had any problems.

This is a fairly common occurrence on older Blues Juniors. If someone trips on a cord or pulls at an angle, the ring can loosen and pop out. The plug flops around.

I've replaced the input jack with a Switchcraft 12A and short piece of co-ax on countless Blues Juniors, especially for gigging musicians. On green board BJrs, I extend the co-ax all the way to the input resistor and clip the jumper (W25) that connects the input resistor to the trace leading up to the stock input jack. The trace is unshielded on the green boards and is a source of internal feedback and noise.

A source at Fender says that they changed input jack vendors somewhere along the way and that newer ones don't lose the ring. I've never compared markings on old and new jacks to see if this is true, however.
