Hi folks,

I own a really nice '68 CTR that I modded with a proper "opti-bug" instead of the hideous trem circuit, upgraded resistors and capacitors, a Mercury Magnetics output trafo and a couple of Jensens 12" "Blackbird" speakers.

I'd lie to find a suitable pedal for overdrive and distortion. I use a vintage Colorsound Supa Tonebender for fuzz tones, but I'm searching a mellower blues tone. Any suggestion?

- Matteo

For mild, mellow overdrive, I would suggest any of the following with the "Drive" knob appropriately tweaked to your liking:

EHX Soul Food
(The somewhat infamous) Danelectro DO-1 Daddy-O (very versatile, especially with the 3-band eq)
MXR M-68 Classic Overdrive (hard to find, but very cool...I have one, and it's a great "Tube Screamer plus something else" sound)
Of course, the ever popular TS-9 or TS-808 I would avoid the TS-10 for "mellow" sounds; it's like the Tube Screamer family's snotty little brother who wears a spiked leather wrist band
