Hi all,

I play guitar for many years now but actually never owned a tube-amp.
These days I just play and record my guitars in my home-studio.
I use Digitech and Zoom 19" pre-amps/signal-processors, always did.
For me it's perfect to practice and record since I can't play at a high volume at home, I always use headphones.
For a long time I really want to have a nice clean tube-sound and I really like the Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb and the 68 Custom Princeton Reverb.
I just wonder if it's the right thing for me since these amps don't have a master volume and probably won't work with headphones.
How is an amp like this at low-volume?
Is it worth it?
I guess I'm gonna need some pedals anyway to get a distorted sound?
I also been looking for the Kemper Profiling Amp, maybe a better option in my situation but I really like these Fender amps.
I really can use some advice here.

Thanks

Using digitals effects on a good tubes amp ..... :(

Distortion ; you'll alway need a good effect pedal.

With headphones, you won't appreciate the Deluxe Reverb.
For home studio use, I would suggest a standalone tube preamp with some high quality tubes. This will provide high quality tube speed for your capture device. It can then be processed normally.
The Deluxe reverb tone depends on the Fender tone stack for its essential characteristics. There is no digital substitute. An analog preamp with a tone stack will do.
