So I was messing around the music room / far end of living room today and accidentally unplugged the return cable from my FX board which runs into the bass breaker as it was still running.. but there was no noise, no pop, no humm or buzz or hiss.. ( Just the transformed hum)

It go me thinking, so i did a few tests..

Connected my Pedal board to my JCA20HV, Clean channel sounded distorted.. ( this was last month, just for reference)
So i reduced gain, so it was OK.. no Hum, no hiss all is good

so back to BB15, I plugged in ( Amp on, guitar connected to front with gain pedals, FX pedals to loop) everything. turned it on, Hum....

Strum a chord and as i am listening to it i unplug return, no sound of guitar no hum
Strum a chord and as i am listening to it i unplug Send, sound of the guitar and hum
Patch cable from send --> return no hum no hiss ( plugged in up to 6 m of cable)
Patch cable in send only no hum no hiss ( plugged in up to 6 m of cable)
patch cable in return only no hum no hiss ( plugged in unto 6 m of cable)

So i'll do more tests after i get something to eat.. if you know what might be happening.. i'm ready to test anything that is in my utmost possible limit.. I guess....

Post Lunch: post dinner update:--- If i unplug the input to the amp ( not the fx return) from my board.. the hum is gone.. Hummmm.. I wonder how, i wonder why...

I purchased a Fender Bassbreaker 15 combo, in the Limited Edition Tweed with the Celestion Greenback speaker back in June. I knew I wanted to make use of the effects loop for my Voodoo Labs MicroVibe and my Ibanez Analog Delay. I never tried it out yet though, and just assumed it worked. After reading this thread, I was scared that mine would have the same problem. So first thing this morning, I plugged in my MicroVibe into the effects loop, and to my relief, no hum, hiss, or any unwanted noise, just a sweet leslie style swirl. Maybe my model was built later, or after they discovered the problem? Glad I dont have to go through the repair process.

Just an update. I purchased a Bassbreaker 15 Combo 2 weeks ago from fender.com

S/N is M17093xx and it does have the engineering change order on the effects loop. Very easy to tell because the "Send" inner jack is black, where the "Return" jack is all chrome (or nickel).
