Putting some NOS RCA tubes in my new '68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb. On hand I have a NOS RCA long grey plate and a short grey plate. Not sure which I should use in the V1 and V2 positions? Any help would be great. Also I have already put a NOS RCA 12at7 black plate in the PI slot. Thanks

I avoid all long-plate dual triodes because they are prone to becoming microphonic.

Well I already own them so must as well use them. If they go bad I will switch them out. Just trying to figure put which V position for both.

RCA 12AX7 long and short plates are great tubes. You can rotate them, into various positions, to get the least amount of noise. If they are getting hissy or microphonic.

Good luck, with those! :)

Thanks. Right now I have the short in V1 and the long in V2. They already sound great. They are not even broken/burned in yet so I will see how they sound after about 48 hours use.

I certainly wouldn't discard them prematurely. Use and enjoy them for as long as they last.
