I had a Peavey Classic 50 2x12 combo. I plugged into output 2 and put a dummy phone plug in output 1. This gave it a "Fat Switch" boost effect. Will this work on my Custom Vibrolux Rerverb the same way? I all ready always use
output 2 for the 6db attenuation. I guess I could just try it but would rather get some opinions first. The CVR amps are noisey and just not up Fender quality of sound out the door. I put in the John Fromel CVR Supreme upgrade kit. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! IT'S QUIET AS A MOUSE AND THE TONE STACKS ARE SO MUCH MORE EXPRESSIVE. The reverb get moved to only the bright channel as it should be.

That technique could be used with any dual-input Fender amp but I don't think it's "fattening" up anything. More likely, it's merely attenuating some of the input signal's high frequencies leading to the perception of enhanced mids.

Are we talking output jack (as in speaker) or input jack as in guitar? The reason I ask is that some Fenders with two speaker outputs, commonly intended for two 8 ohm speakers (or cabs), are recommended for use with a single 4 ohm cab by plugging it into the second jack and putting a 'dummy plug' in the first. :?:
