Just had my first problem with my Cyber Twin. I plugged it in, I turned it on, the speakers are on, the power jewel is lit, one of the green lights is lit but the processor won't come on and I can't receive a signal. Is this maybe a tube gone bad? The amp has not been damaged, dropped, or mistreated at all. It worked just fine when I last plugged in a couple of weeks ago.

Anyone ever had or seen this problem before?

Thanks!!

There are only two 12AX7 tubes on this amp and IMO they don't drive the microprocessor .

Schematic here;

I appreciate the response stratele52, but I can't read that schematic. It's just a bunch of lines and circles to me. :D But I believe you when you say the tube doesn't drive the processor. I was actually just guessing at the problem. Hopefully it's nothing major. Thank you for the response!!

Correct. When I turn it on, you can still hear that very low 'pop' that you normally hear when you turn the power on so I believe there is still a signal being sent to the speakers. The red power jewel on the front lights up, and the green "Tap" light just to the left of the processor window is lit. That's all. The processor window is not lit. There's no display as if the processor is not turning on. Normally, the processor comes on as soon as the amp is powered up. It takes about 5 seconds to start up and the amp is ready to play. But now, nothing. Just those couple of lights. I assume the processor controls everything. I'm not about to start taking it apart to bypass the processor. I'll make a mess of it. I'll let a professional work on it. I'll get it fixed. I'd just like an idea of what's going on.

If you just want a simple approach (guess), it could be an internal fuse. There is at least F2,3,4 in the power supplies, besides the line fuse F1. And also additonal internal voltage regulators for additional supplies.

And yes, no doubt, it should be repaired. It's probably a great amp.

No sound coming from the unit...
- Turn MASTER VOLUME, TRIM, GAIN, VOLUME, TREBLE, MIDDLE, BASS and Guitar Volume ALL above minimum.
- Is there anything plugged into the HEADPHONE jack? Remove it.
- Is the TUNER Mode engaged? Press EXIT.

Thanks shimmilou! But none of the buttons or dials are responsive. When I turn on the amp, there's nothing. The processor is completely blank, as if it's not turned on. There's power to the speakers, that's really about it. Hopefully it is just something like an internal fuse.

Look at a the internals fuses.

You need a meter to read if fuse are good or not, just with you eyes will not work.

This happened at a forum member. He check fuse ( with eyes only but he did not tell us) fuse was good. He ( and us ) spend time to find where is the problem, he found a meter and check fuse, fuse was bad. Amp fixed.

You must put exactly same fuse

Ok, just had my tech take a look at it. Turns out the circuit board to the processor had some kind of film on it and was shorting it out. He described it as a very thin film "like egg yolk." No idea how that got there. I NEVER put drinks on my amp and I always keep the cover on when I'm not playing it. I baby my amp. His theory is that there could have been something in the air and the fan picked it up or something. He said it was easy to clean off and it's now working fine. Thank you everyone for all the input and suggestions!!!

I've never heard of "film-egg yolk" problem before. JOC, you weren't eating an omelet during practice one day? Perhaps, the result of using Pep Boys bargain motor oil? OK, OK... just kidding

Glad he found the cure & it wasn't too difficult a fix.
