Just wondering if anyone has tried the Eminence RF10C as a replacement speaker. Sounds like folks who have gone with the alnico equiped Red Fang have been happy. For 1/3rd the price, I'm thinking to give the RF10C a shot.

I did an Eminence Lil Buddy Hemp Cone speaker in my X2, I loved the change from the stock speaker. Sold the setup a while back, but the two together were awesome.

On paper, the SF10C looks promising. More extended range and lower resonant frequency than the Lil Buddy, while not so hot in the upper response as the Ragin Cajun. Much heavier magnet, lighter cone, a diecast vs stamped frame, and a tad less height than the other options. Q values and heritage look promising as well.

I put in JJ tubes and set the bias to 40ma a few years ago. Clean on the stock speaker was the most likable of the usages, but I always wondered if I could get a bit tighter bass. Always a bit of fun to modify things too :)

Pretty much nothing in the fora on the RF10C, which I gather is because it is relatively new. With such cheap pricing out there on the speaker now, I picked one up yesterday and will see about fitting it in there today.

FYI,,, the SF10C is a stamped steel frame, even tho the specs say diecast aluminum. Will have to notify Eminence that they have at least that wrong in their specs.
