I would like to see the following added to the next revision to the Hot Rod Deluxe:
1. Variable output knob for controlling wattage from 1 to 40 (similar to Bassbreaker 45).
2. Recording-friendly Power Amp Mute, switchable speaker-emulated XLR line output and ground lift (similar to Bassbreaker 15).
3. USB direct recording output (similar to Peavey Valveking amps).
4. Tube monitoring with LED pass/fail indicator lights (similar to Peavey Valveking amps).

So you're prepared to spend $1500 on a HRD amp......?

It already has this one, it's called a volume knob.

That's for sure. Don't hold you breath for any changes though. It took Fender a really long time to fix a ton of reliability issues with that amp. I think it's in a happy place now. If it's too loud, you bought the wrong amp. My Engager Rebel 20 goes from one watt to twenty watts and one watt is still pretty loud. It also uses 6v6 and el84 power tubes that you can blend. It's a fun amp, but I still gravitate to my 5e3 clone.
Seems like the more bells and whistles, the more problems you invite. Leo knew that. That's why thousands of his creations are still here and a lot of the newer Fender amps are in landfills.
